Amazing Whole30 recipes we love

As a team we have done quite a few rounds of Whole30 over here at We Get to Know.  In fact it’s safe to say that following some of our health conscious guest and wanting to know more about their lives is one of the main reasons we started this podcast.

We know January is a big month for the Whole30 community and we wanted to be a small part of that in some way.   Since we haven’t quite dove into the recipe development realm ourselves, we decided to compile a list of our favorite compliant recipes; all of which we have personally made and know will never disappoint.  Its easy to get in a rut with our meal plans and I can’t help but think I wish I had this list when I did my first Whole30.  But nonetheless, its here now for me to always fall back on when I need a bit of inspiration in the kitchen.

Each recipe featured below are all from the gifted recipe creators, writers and bloggers who have been guests on our podcast this past year.   While we are highlighting one of their delicious recipes below, you’ll also find links to their podcast episodes as well as their websites where you can explore all of their yummy creations.

Happy Whole30 cooking and listening!!!

Crispy Ginger Beef + Broccoli Stir Fry: by Alex Snodgrass, The Defined Dish

Choosing one of our favorite recipes from Alex is like choosing between children, nearly impossible.  We settled on this stir fry because it’s just so satisfying and ticks all the right flavor boxes.   Fall in love with Alex’s food and then fall in love with her on the podcast… listen to Alex on the podcast here.

Indian Saag Chicken: by Cheryl Malik, 40 Aprons

We have a special place in our heart for Cheryl because she was our very first interview on the podcast (listen to our chat here).  We were more than a little nervous and so thankful she said yes!  We admit we are junkies for Indian food and this saag is simply delicious, well done Cheryl.

Thousand Island Dressing + Wedge Salad: by Michelle Smith, The Whole Smiths

Cool, crisp and refreshing… We chose this salad for those reasons and for the fact it’s delicious yet super simple to make if you want a quick Whole30 meal.  Michelle released her first cookbook, The Whole Smiths Good Food Cookbook, endorsed by Whole30 and loved by us.  We really enjoyed our chat with Michelle on the podcast, you can listen here.

Beef Tips & Gravy over Cauliflower Mash: by Ashley McCrary, Healthy Little Peach

Holy Cow!!!  This is what you call Whole30 comfort food at its finest, yet it’s still healthy.  Mac has hit this one out of the park, it’s such a perfect example of how there is no reason to feel deprived while doing a Whole30.  We chatted with Mac on our podcast and truly appreciated her honesty and openness, listen here.

Oven Baked Chicken Nuggets: by Carmen Sturdy of Every Last Bite

Grain free nuggets… YES!  I’m not sure if the children or adults will win the battle for the last nugget if this recipe is on your table but one thing is for sure, we all win with this version.  Flavor and crisp are just two reasons these little nuggets will be a staple in your home whether you are doing a Whole30 or not.  We spoke with Carmen on our podcast, she shares about her autoimmune diagnosis and how that changed her life, listen here.

Hot & Sweet Orange Pulled Pork: by Natalie Perry, Perry’s Plate

Natalie has the pressure cooker and slow cooker meals down pat (she has cookbooks dedicated to both!!).  One key to success for Whole30 is prep, prep, prep and then prep a little more.  I love making a big batch of pulled pork, chicken or beef and then use it all week in multiple variations.  This version is everything I want in a meal… a little hot and a little sweet.  We truly enjoyed having Natalie on the podcast and learning how she started her blog, listen here.

Pan-Seared Halibut with Citrus-Jalapeño Salsa: by Serena Wolf, Domesticate Me

Serena was an early guest on the podcast (listen here) and we have been loyal followers of hers ever since.  We buy her beauty product suggestions and we make her food.  Why?  Because she is authentic and we can trust she is giving us legit reviews and excellent recipes.  This citrus-jalapeño halibut is no exception, it’s everything I love in one easy and flavor packed dish.  Give it a try!  Oh and don’t miss Serena’s Instagram stories…  she has quite the following for a reason.

Turkey & Sweet Potato Asian Lettuce Wraps: by Kelsey Preciado, Little Bits Of

Stuffed lettuce wraps are such a favorite of mine.  They deliver the goods on flavor but in this crisp fresh lettuce bite.  I really believe food is at its best when multiple flavor elements are found in one bite and this dish really delivers.  Kelsey chatted with us on the podcast, I loved hearing her journey to becoming a full time food blogger, listen here.
